WARNING: This is an alpha release of Mozilla.

Compiled on Mandrake Linux 9.1 i686 with gcc 3.2.2 and kernel 2.4.21-0.13mdk
Enabling the standard build options found on http://www.mozilla.org/build/distribution.html 
This build should run on most Linux distributions, including Mandrake, Red Hat, Suse, Gentoo. 
The source is available at http://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/mozilla/releases/mozilla1.6a/src/

Enabled options:
ac_add_options --enable-xft  	#font anti-aliasing enabled!
ac_add_options --disable-tests
ac_add_options --disable-debug
ac_add_options --enable-optimize
ac_add_options --without-system-nspr
ac_add_options --without-system-zlib
ac_add_options --without-system-jpeg
ac_add_options --without-system-png
ac_add_options --without-system-mng
ac_add_options --enable-crypto

The build includes Xft support (anti aliasing), Mail & News, Chatzilla, Composer.
The Calendar and SVG support are not included.

Type about:buildconfig to display the build options of Mozilla.

HOW TO INSTALL
++++++++++++++

* Tar.bz2 build:

Uncompress the downloaded file with the command 'tar xvfj
<the_downloaded_file>', in a directory where you have writing permissions. 
'cd' into the 'mozilla' directory and run './mozilla' to launch Mozilla 1.6a Xft.


* Installer build:

uncompress the downloaded file with the command 'tar xvfz <the_downloaded_file>' 
and run './mozilla-installer' in the 'mozilla-installer' directory. 
This will guide you through the installation process.

* A Linux distribution with Xft support for X, gcc 3.2 or higher, glibc 2.3.2 and above.
* Java Runtime Environment compatible with gcc 3.2 (JRE 1.4.2 or higher)
* A few nice fonts installed. Some Linux distributions support importing truetype
  fonts. Or checkout the corefonts package at http://corefonts.sourceforge.net/
